Membrane Ausstellung Membrane Exhibition: Lamin Fofana, Janine Jembere, Nicole Suzuki, Vitjitua Ndjiharine, Luiza Prado de O. Martins

Die Ausstellung der Akademie Schloss Solitude findet parallel zum „Membrane“ Festival statt und präsentiert in Anlehnung an die Prämissen der Durchlässigkeit, Flexibilität und Gleichzeitigkeit vier künstlerische Positionen aus dem internationalen Netzwerk der Akademie. In unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen und künstlerischen Formaten werden Versuche sichtbar, die Grenzen der Erkennbarkeit in Frage zu stellen. Die Stipendiatinnen Janine Jembere und Luiza Prado de O. Martins befassen sich in Installationen und digitalen Projekten mit dem Verhältnis von Macht, Schreiben und Verschleierung sowie Theorien zu Dekolonialität und Gender. Die Arbeiten werden ergänzt mit einer Soundinstallation von Lamin Fofana, Gast des „Membrane“ Festivals, und Bearbeitungen von deutschen Fotoarchiven aus der Kolonialzeit der namibischen Künstlerin Vitjitua Ndjiharine.
The Akademie Schloss Solitude exhibition takes place parallel to the “Membrane” festival. In line with the festival exploration of permeability, flexibility and simultaneity it presents four artistic positions from within the international network of the Akademie. Using different artistic approaches and formats, the artists attempt to question the limits of knowability. In their installations and digital projects, the fellows Janine Jembere and Luiza Prado de O. Martins deal with power, writing and veiling, and with decolonial and gender theories. A sound installation by Lamin Fofana, participant of “Membrane”, and the artistic manipulation of German colonial photographic archives by Namibian artist Vitjitua Ndjiharine complement the exhibition.
